Cabanne Howard, CEO

Cabanne has built a strategic marketing & consulting practice based on her experience in the corporate, hospitality, real estate, arts and nonprofit worlds. Cabanne is a strategic and critical thinker with an ability to leverage relationships and expertise to create effective, customized communications solutions on time and under budget. She is the consummate brand and relationship builder.

Cabanne earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Over the course of her career, Cabanne has built a robust network of communications experts around the country with whom she works to deliver value to KMG’s clients. Collectively, the KMG team brings decades of strategic communications experience across public relations, web and graphic design, consumer insights, branding and advertising.


Karen Leeker, Strategic Marketing Partner

Driven by a passion to grow organizations thoughtfully, Karen leverages her expertise to help companies scale swiftly yet sustainably.  An engaging marketing leader, Karen has the unique ability to quickly assess markets, communicate simply, and implement strategies through actionable planning.

Karen is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and she brings over two decades of marketing experience across consumer products, healthcare, and technology.  Her diverse expertise includes product development, integrated marketing, personalized messaging, and strategic planning.


Serena Mounts, Account Executive

Serena Mounts is a PR and social media professional with more than a decade of experience. She specializes in strategy, blogger/influencer relations, media relations, social media and writing. She has represented dozens of marquee clients across a spectrum of industries, including AT&T, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Clorox, Dove, Energizer, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, the March of Dimes and more. She managed AT&T’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs, including the brand’s anti-texting-while-driving campaign, “It Can Wait”.

Serena graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and a minor in International Business. Her previous employers have included SSPR in Chicago and FleishmanHillard St. Louis.


Angela Mueller, Account Executive

Angela brings nearly two decades of experience as an editor and writer at the Business Journal. She has significant experience covering the health care market, an industry that includes some of the St. Louis region’s largest employers and biggest public companies. She has also written extensively about executives and companies from across the marketplace during her tenure. Angela oversaw the design, compilation and distribution of the daily digital newsletter.

Her work has gained national recognition, earning awards in categories such as best business story, best feature series, best coverage of government and best investigative reporting. Angela received a bachelor of arts in print journalism, magna cum laude, from Bob Jones University in South Carolina and lives in Illinois with her husband and three children.


Sarah Bumgardner, Project Manager

Sarah comes to St. Louis from Lexington, Kentucky, where she worked in industries ranging from energy to manufacturing to nonprofit management. She brings expertise in marketing communications, website management, event planning and project management, among other skills.

Sarah has a bachelor’s in communications with a focus on advertising and public relations from Morehead State University.


Tucker Pierce, Senior Graphic Designer

A talented illustrator and designer with experience in Adobe’s Creative Suite, Tucker brings fresh thinking & perspective to Kaleidoscope’s client work.

Tucker is a graduate of Washington University and earned a bachelor of fine arts degree. Tucker also co-founded Westminster Press, an arts organization dedicated to empowering and promoting artists whose work explores and celebrates historically marginalized identities.

Emily Gyan, Project Manager

Emily Gyan is enthusiastic about social networking, communications, and the arts.  She has experience as an administrative assistant to an attorney and has a strong communications and creative background, working as an ambassador for the National World War II Museum in New Orleans for years. She has a wide range of experience in outreach programs and volunteer mission work. A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, Emily earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre.


Amy Burger, Media Relations Specialist

Amy is a seasoned strategic communications professional and copywriter with nearly 20 years experience working in the St. Louis market. She has worked in a variety of sectors, including nonprofit and corporate, and helps clients of all sizes achieve their strategic communications goals.

Amy has strong relationships with members of the local media across all formats. She is also a freelance journalist who contributes to several local and regional publications. Amy earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in media communications from Webster University.
